Skyroads is a piece that challenges the focus of perception in everyday life. Its intention is to invite the viewer to journey out of the mundane up into the wide-open sky above. I shot the base footage on a daily commute, one shared by tens of thousands of residents of Belfast and its surrounding areas. The treatment of the footage reframes the context, transforming the journey to an endless gentle rising into parting clouds, drawing focus away from the fragments of road and architecture and into the sky. What is happening in the majestic scattering of greys and blues, what are you journeying towards, who are you becoming today? The possibilities are endless. The sky dominates the view, as I believe our view of day-to-day life can be open, wild, and free. The transformation of our world is dependent on the activation of our dreams, living from the fullness of who we are. A commute can become an opportunity to be entangled in the mystery of who we are.
